The Romantic Cello
Available at:
The programme features two of the most seductive works in the cellist’s repertoire; the sonatas of Rachmaninov and Chopin, both in their time considered to be amongst the composers’ most successful works. The programme also includes the Chopin ‘Polonaise Brillante’ and the ever-popular ‘Vocalise’, originally scored for voice and piano, but also arranged by the composer for piano and cello. Natalie is joined by long-time collaborator Charles Owen at the piano in works which far from being scored as mere piano accompaniments, are set as an equal voice, exploring the intimate relationship between the two instruments.
